Dr Copa Scrip for Success

The wife has been after me for some time to get our backyard up to speed with an outdoor kitchen, a pond with a waterfall and various other goodies that would be a perfect get-a-way and great for entertaining as well. We have seen some pretty nice backyards these past couple of years at some of our friends houses and I agree that it would be awesome.

We love spending time outdoors and we do have a pretty decent set up all ready. We have a hot tub on order that should be arriving any day now. We both have been wanting a hot tub for some time now and are really looking forward to using it as often as we can.

She (the wife) all ready has the Outdoor Bar Stools picked out that she would love to buy and put back there that she found online and sent me the link to, not bad looking if I say so myself. But bar stools would be the easiest of all the tasks that lay ahead with all that she is dreaming of having me to do out there.

Most people are concerned with keeping their homes warm in the winter without going broke. We always hear such horror stories about so many people freezing to death during the harsh winter months.  There is a big push lately to help people with keeping cool during the extremely hot summer months by collecting fans and distributing them to the elderly, the disabled and the poor, which I think is a pretty cool (excuse the pun) idea.

I think we all need a good home energy audit on our homes to make sure that we are getting the best bang for our buck with all of the big money power/utility companies that are raking us all year round for our energy needs. My folks just recently contacted some home energy auditors and they came out and spent several hours inspecting their home and providing them with good recommendations and options that will hopefully save them a good amount of their money. They have since hired home insulation contractors to come and do a good amount of the suggested changes that will only take a short time to get their place up to speed.

It looks like I need to find information for my elderly aunt about her heating issues. Not that folks in southern California need as much heat as most of the country does, but they do have some cold weather and heat is expensive and she is living on a fixed income. I need to Google “fireplace inserts bay area” and what I can find out if a fireplace insert would be best or if we need to look for wood stoves for sale for her particular situation. She has a wonderful fireplace in her home with one of the nicest looking fireplace mantels that I’ve seen in a long time, but she isn’t comfortable using the fireplace and dealing with all the work and effort that it takes to have a nice fire going during the cold weather.

My Aunt Dottie is one of the senior citizens that wants nothing to do computers so we all try and pitch in when possible to assist her with tasks that are so easy for us to tackle with the use of the Internet and this time it is my turn. I don’t mind a bit, Aunt Dottie is a great lady that I have so much respect and love for. It was difficult to say good bye to her when she up and moved out west over 12 years ago, knowing full well that I would most likely never see her again. She is too old to travel much these days and unless I end up in California for some reason, which I don’t see happening any time soon, I fear that I really will not ever set eyes on her again. Thank goodness for free night time and weekend minutes with our cell phones these days since talking on the phone is the only way she will communicate with friends and/or family.

My brother-in-law is in need of some handyman services in northern virginia and since he is not from around that area he really doesn’t know anyone that he can get a good referral from, which is always the way that he has done his business dealings in the past. I know how hard it is to be in a new area and not knowing where to turn and who to trust. Having Internet access is the only way to go these days and I’ve urged him to do just that. All he needs to do is Google “northern virginia handyman” and he should be able to find a couple that he can check into from there. Of course doing a bit of research is always best before jumping into things these days, but the Internet can be a valuable tool as a starting point.

My father-in-law is busy as ever with the blomus kitchen remodeling  project that he promised his wife of over 35 years he would do last year before he got sick and couldn’t get things going as planned. But now that he is back on his feet he is really knocking this blomus stainless steel equipped kitchen like a man twenty years younger.

My mother-in-law fell in love with blomus stainless products when one of her friends lavished her home with blomus fireplace, which caught the attention of all of the local women in the neighborhood and has been driving her husband absolutely crazy about blomus stainless steel ever since.I’ve never been a big fan of stainless steel, but that is just me. My father-in-law would do anything he could to keep her happy, guess that is why they have lasted over 35 years.
