Subway Subs

Sometimes I just need a break from burgers for lunch, so Subway has become my restaurant of choice lately. I like to get take advantage of their $5  foot long sub and my favorite is the Spicy Italian. I just wish that they didn’t ask so many questions about how I want it fixed. I understand why they do this but I find that when I’m in a hurry or not in the best of moods that I tend to get a bit cranky and irritated with all the questions. Funny thing is that I’m not the only one that feels that way. There have been several people that I have talked to about Subway that feel the same way.

Shoddy baggers

I’m pretty sure that the cashiers and bagger that work at the grocery store get training on how to properly bag a customer’s groceries. It never ceases to amaze me how poorly a job of bagging groceries some of the cashiers and baggers do. First of all, I think that the big stores that make the cashiers scan the groceries and do the bagging is expecting the cashier to do too much. I think that each cashier should have a bagger so that each can concentrate on doing the job right, instead of doing it fast!

Saturday Mail Delivery

I’ve been hearing for a long time that the Postal Service is considering dropping Saturday deliveries as a way to trim their budget. I think that it is a very good idea. I don’t need to be receiving bills in the mail six days a week!  On the other hand, I would personally encourage the Post Offices to stay open on Saturdays, however, to make it easier for people who work during the business week to be able to go to the Post Office on their day off to buy stamps, pick-up packages, etc. But home delivery, I won’t miss it on Saturdays for one minute!

Sheetz

Sheetz is a popular gas station around these parts. They usually have the lowest prices for gas and cigarettes. Last time I was in there I saw that they are selling milk shakes and since I really enjoy a good milk shake I decided to give it a try. I have to say that they make a very tasty milk shake for only $2.29, a much better shake and a much better deal than McDonald’s.

Sheetz just recently made it possible to save 3 cents a gallon by offering their customers a customer appreciation card that you can use to save money not only on gas but on other products found inside as well. It’s all about saving money these days.

Gifts For New Customers

Funny how things work out. Just last week I was telling a friend how the banks used give away nice things to their customers that opened up a new account with them. My mother had a nice collection of lead crystal going on there for many years that she would get for free from the local bank.

Anyway, I went to our local bank today to open up a new checking account and walked away with a Free Checking Account, along with a nice cooking grill that they were giving their new customers this month. It was actually the last grill that they had and would have to start giving away some car storage item that I would have no particular use for so I’m happy as a clam with my new grill – For Free.
