Getting arrested is never a good time, but at least these days we have a lot of options to help with issues like this. Back in the day trying to find a good california criminal lawyer could be a time consuming task if you didn’t all ready have one on retainer or know one from friends or family. The best you could hope for was looking through the good old paper version of the Yellow Pages and the most that could offer was a name, address, phone number and a short ad, if they actually had one. Not a whole lot of good information could be gained from that.

Any attorney worth their while, in my opinion, will have a website with a lot of pertinent information for you to check out. It’s like a super duper sized Yellow Pages of the 21st century and you gotta love all that the Internet brings to us these days. When you are in a sticky situation, such as being accused of a crime, the more you know, the better off you will be.

I live quite a little ways off of the road and can never really tell if someone is turning around in my dooryard, or coming up to visit.  I don’t like to be surprised.  So I’ve been reading in a lot of magazines about motion detectors that you can hide anywhere in your dooryard so when a vehicle passes that point it sets off an alarm in your house.  I would set it x number of feet off of the road so that if someone is just turning around, it won’t go off, but if they come up a certain amount of feet into the dooryard, I’ll know they are coming up to the house, and we’ll know that they are coming.

They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install.  I hope to put one in real soon!
