I love to travel

My wife is close to retirement age, and I am starting to plan what I would like to do, and where I would like to go when my wife can retire.  I want to go to Australia.  That is a top priority for me.  I’d also like to take my wife to Hawaii.  She has been there before and loved it!  I would also like to go to California and see the Alcatraz Island and ride the San Francisco trolley!  And, I’d like to see Mt Rushmore, and the Grand Canyon.

Oh my, there are a lot of places I want to go!  I’d better start gathering information about all of those places!

Address Signs Are Important

My kid sister has been giving me some grief lately concerning my current address sign that is older than dirt at this point. She’s been saying that she saw a show on TV which was discussing that our emergency personnel are really having a difficult time finding the right place to respond to – when they are called and needed for assistance – because of the issue of  a growing number of unreadable address signs. You can only imagine  that at night it would be even more of a challenge.

With this being said she is urging me to get off of it and start looking around online and look at the large variety of address plaques and numbers that are on today’s market. She sent me the link to justaddressplaques.com the other day and I’ve spent some time looking around and seeing what is out there that might just float my boat. I never realized how many varieties of house address plaques there are these days.

It only makes sense to get a quality and easy to read address plaque. There are times when I call one of the Chinese Restaurants or the local Domino’s Pizza to be delivered and I do like my food nice and hot. Better chance of getting it hot if they delivery person can read the address plaque.

A dream come true

Do you remember back when our generation was in high school and college, how so many of us dreamed about traveling to Europe, or one of the British Isles? Others of us dreamed about starting our own communes out in the country. I often wonder how many of us actually accomplished any of that?

Jenny was telling us that she has been offered a job transfer with the company that she works for to go live in Scotland for a few years. The transfer might even be a permanent one if she likes it over there and does a good job. She is so excited about having the chance to go over to Scotland to live because that is where her mother’s family originated from, and she is hoping to find some long lost relatives over there. She has to give her answer to the promotion offer tomorrow, and already she has gone online to look for places to stay.

She’s been told that she can transfer either to Glascow or Edinburgh, so she is also spending a lot of time researching the two different cities, trying to figure out which place would suit her better. Naturally she is also searching the ads for flats for rent in Glasgow and flats for rent in Edinburgh to see which place have the most desirable flats to rent. In addition to close proximity to where she will be working she will want the best amenities she can find.

Sounds like a dream come true!

A dream vacation

One of my wife’s favorite dream vacations would be a trip to England to visit with her many relatives that she has found in her geneology searches over the years. She would love to see the tourist spots during the day and spend nights in a relatives home or in some London Apartments.

Spending a few nights in London Apartments would give us the chance to participate in a lot of evening activities in London without having to worry about getting stuck in any kind of rush hour traffic trying to leave the city. I hope that we can afford to do some dream trips like that before we’re both too old to travel!

Moving Days

We have become such a transient people these days. People seem to come and go at such a fast rate that it makes it hard to establish a relationship with folks and keep it once they pack up and leave for any of the numerous reasons that people do leave. I understand that LA movers are doing a wonderful business since people are constantly heading out west with no end in sight of that concept coming to an end any time soon.

I have a buddy who made that cross country trip a few years ago and is know working for a very busy Los Angeles moving company and couldn’t be happier working as one of the many Los Angeles movers that help people with re locating their belongings anywhere that they are willing to pay for.

It’s funny that he ended up working for a moving company, since he was always the type of guy that when called on to help with a move always had an excuse to keep him away from such a task. It actually become a running joke around the circle of friends and family that were so knit tight back in those days and now the joke continues with the news of his new employment.  LOL
