From what I understand the groundhogs have predicted six more weeks of winter weather. Well, so far the winter weather here has been unusually mild, so if that is what we are going to continue to get for the next six weeks, I am all for it! If I recall correctly, it has only snowed once around here this winter season, and we’ve only had some freezing rain once as well, and that is the way I like it! My folks back in New England have not had it quite so lucky; every time I talk to them on the phone they are telling me how cold it is and how much snow they are getting. Again, fine with me; they can keep it there!

I find all the rhetoric that I’m hearing on television lately about how raising taxes on the country’s wealthiest citizens is paramount to class warfare a lot of hooey. My understanding of class warfare is when you make living conditions impossible for survival. From what I’ve been hearing, proposals on tax increases are simply to bring the taxes that go up to the level that they were when the Clintons were in the white house.

When the Clintons were in the White House I did not hear of any wealthy citizens being taxed to the point where they could not survive. The suggestion that entitlements be cut for the elderly and disabled is unconscionable. Reducing the benefits that go to the country’s truly needy should not even be on the bargaining table.

I’ve been hearing bits and pieces about a mother who was convicted of child abuse. She punished her adopted son by forcing him to drink hot sauce and take cold showers. I think that people like that should be sterilized and prevented from being near children. What scum!

I am pretty sure most people take their feet for granted and don’t think about them very much. I must say, the average person does not have attractive feet. Unless the person has spent time grooming their feet, they often have callouses and uneven toenails and worse things I won’t mention here.

Do you remember a funny scene in a movie with Eddie Murphy where he had opportunities with many beautiful but then he looked at the woman’s feet and he was so disgusted with them that he spurned the women? I cannot remember the movie title. There was a funny scene when he had one particularly beautiful woman in bed and he lifted up the satin bedsheets to look at her feet and his resulting expression and actions were hilarious.

This ad showed up on my Yahoo homepage and I look at the foot and thought, Edie Murphy would not approve. You would think that if they were going to feature a woman’s foot on a major media source that someone would find a professional foot model and show a pretty foot – not something ugly like this one.

Today my two brother-in-laws are participating in the Big Rolling Thunder rally in DC. I really wanted to participate with them this year, but have been called away to New England to look after my ailing elderly mother. I hope that they have loads of fun, and I hope that I can join them next year!
