Feet

feet

I am pretty sure most people take their feet for granted and don’t think about them very much. I must say, the average person does not have attractive feet. Unless the person has spent time grooming their feet, they often have callouses and uneven toenails and worse things I won’t mention here.

Do you remember a funny scene in a movie with Eddie Murphy where he had opportunities with many beautiful but then he looked at the woman’s feet and he was so disgusted with them that he spurned the women? I cannot remember the movie title. There was a funny scene when he had one particularly beautiful woman in bed and he lifted up the satin bedsheets to look at her feet and his resulting expression and actions were hilarious.

This ad showed up on my Yahoo homepage and I look at the foot and thought, Edie Murphy would not approve. You would think that if they were going to feature a woman’s foot on a major media source that someone would find a professional foot model and show a pretty foot – not something ugly like this one.

Weekend at the beach

Thanks to the guest post from Allison Thomlison

Last weekend was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a very long time. Connie invited our family to join her family at her new summer cottage on the lake for the weekend. I’ve been wanting to come see her new place ever since she told me that she had bought it. Of course the promise of a weekend full of boating and tubing made the lure even stronger!

After packing a couple of suitcases, complete with extra life jackets, sun screen, and swimming suits, we set our home security tolleson alarm and set off on the two hour drive to Connie’s place. As we got closer to her place we stopped at a local grocery store and bought the ingredients to my favorite fruit trifle to prepare for the next day’s dinner, and the traditional s’mores ingredients. As promised, we had the best time – especially the part of cooking the s’mores! That is a long-time family favorite!

After the kids were tucked into bed, we watched a movie called The Bucket List from one of the new channels that they had picked up when they took advantage of one of the Direct TV Deals that they purchased for the summer. All in all it was a fantastic weekend!

Rudolph Warms My Heart Each Holiday Season

For me, there is no holiday special more wonderful than the animated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Kids grow up watching this classic. I know because I was one of those kids. The amazing thing is that it never got old, and I never became too old to watch it.

Rudolph used to air in December, but as the holiday season has started earlier and earlier, it now usually airs in November. I make a point of never missing it and watched it happily on Direct TV Satellite Deals this year.

This animated program is full of heart, good drama, and great songs. Burl Ives just warms my soul as the snowman who tells the tale. He narrates the story from beginning to end.

Aside from the catchy tune of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, I love the Silver and Gold song that is the theme of Yukon Cornelius. A Holly Jolly Christmas and There’s Always Tomorrow are two other tunes that I always enjoy hearing.

It is the heart, though, that makes this show a standard. We have three individuals, all feeling lost and alone, uniting with the goal of finding a home. Through the magic of Christmas, and of love, they all grow in so many wonderful ways, and they do make it home.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a show for kids, and adults, of all ages.

Do You Think You Can Handle Full Metal Jacket?

Thanks for the guest post by Jo Levy

Have you seen that commercial where the old drill sergeant dude plays a mean shrink? It’s the one where he throws a box of tissues at his patient. That was pretty funny. Well, I watched the movie Full Metal Jacket for the first time on my satellite tv that I got after seeing this Directtv comparison the other day. I didn’t realize it at first, but that’s the same dude that played the mean shrink in that commercial. And if I’m not mistaken, Full Metal Jacket is where he got that hard-nosed reputation from. He might be a real former military man in real life, but he was one badass dude in Full Metal Jacket. He was so bad that he drove a man to kill himself. Whoa! If you think you can handle hardcore military trying, watch Full Metal Jacket. You might think twice. This is also why this is my favorite action movie of all time. The acting in the movie was sensational.

There wasn’t much action in the beginning of Full Metal Jacket. The first half was more psychological than anything else. The action came in the second half of the movie. And this part was good, but it was nothing like the first half. The first half of this movie was so good that I could probably watch it every single day for the rest of my life. Not joking, either.

Jensen Ackles is my favorite actor

My favorite television actor let me count the ways. I love Jensen Ackles, he has been in so many series and is now branching out to movies, and he is a very good actor. Recently he has been known for his work on Supernatural, but he has also been in other series and actually got his real start on Days of Our Lives.

At the time, I did not pay much attention to soap operas. However, as it is Friday, it is time for some Dean Winchester! I will be watching Jensen Ackles on Direct television this evening. His character is so dominant, his voice is so deep and his acting is superb. Supernatural is something that my husband and I watch on a regular basis. He knows that I enjoy watching Jensen, but that too is okay with him.

Jensen also was recently in the remake of My Bloody Valentine. I was too young for the original version, so I did not know the plot. This movie was amazing for anyone who has not seen it yet, go pick it up you will not be sorry.

Jensen Ackles is my favorite television actor for many different reasons. For one, he can act. For two, he is eye candy. For three, his voices makes my hear melt and those are good enough reasons for me.
