My sister-in-law called today and asked my wife if we already had one of those new Keurig coffee machines or not. She replied that we did not have one yet, but were interested in finding a good deal on one because her parents are staying with us for a couple of weeks and her father really likes the machine that they have at home. Much to my surprise, she told my wife that she was going to go ahead and order one for us to be picked up at Wal-Mart through their site-to-store service. She’ll pay the tab, all we have to do is go pick it up! That’s really exciting news because it is not very often that anyone in either of our families do anything that nice for us. I’m looking forward to trying it out! I wonder how fast we can go pick it up!
Although there are a lot of things we can buy over the Internet at a great price, there are times when we need to find something locally. Like plumbing services, a tow truck or a good local restaurant. I don’t know why it is, but whenever I am looking for the paper version of the local Yellowpages, I can’t seem to find it!
So even though I know we have several telephone books in the house, instead of trying to find them I just go on the Internet to the local.com website to do a local search for the businesses and services that I need to have done. It’s quick and easy, and I don’t have to try to remember to put it away when I’m through with it!
Just found an interesting story about how the earth’s position has shifted over many centuries, which has caused the zodiac signs to change a bit as well. That made sense to me and so I kept clicking and reading. I ended up on a webpage where it gave me the chance to enter in my birthday and see whether or not my zodiac sign is really what I thought it was. Well, yes it is, but my daughter’s is different and so is my sister’s!
Now how wierd is that!? Of course, these folks have been born “on the cusp” which means that they have traits of two signs, but it really is interesting that they are not the “sign” that they thought they were!
One of the things that I like about youtube is that I can always find something that will make me laugh! Take for example, these clips of funny (but banned) commercials! I think they are a riot!
I finally got a price to put the exhaust on the van from a dealership – it almost scared me to death – almost $800! I went to buy the exhaust for myself at the parts store and it was $460. So I went online to a parts store that I buy parts from, not knowing if they sell exhaust or not and purchased the whole exhaust shipped right to me for half. I’ll be installing it myself next week and saving a butt load of cash this way.
