My dad is very pleased with the information that he is finding out about the Arrow Sheds that he is getting ready to purchase as soon as he gets his hands on the money that good old Uncle Sam owes him for the year 2011. Dad considers this money that comes to him each year HIS Christmas time, since he never really gets anything that he wants for Christmas. I mean the man can only use so much after shave, socks, ties, slippers, cigars and all the typical Dad gifts. The things that he really wants aren’t exactly in the budget for most of the family members, especially with the economy still in such a mess. And this year he really has his heart and mind both set on the subject of Storage Sheds. Not just any Storage Shed mind you, but only Steel Sheds from Arrow Space Maker will do at this point.

As most people, my parents have acquired way too much stuff. Easy to do when you have lived in the same house for over 50 years together, while raising a large family and now housing grandchildren. That house has provided shelter while my mother prepared the food and has always been a safe haven to many family members through out the years and they have a real need to do a big sweep of the place and start using some good quality Steel Storage Sheds. It’s all good.

When we lived in New England, there were several years when the electric company offered to send a team of home energy auditors out to their customers homes to check out the nooks and crannies and see where energy efficiency could be improved. Every month they included flyers with home energy efficiency tips along with the customer statement. They even included coupons for savings on energy efficient appliances and insulation.

When living in a northern state such as that, every tip and trick and coupon that helps keep energy costs down is a big deal. And the demand for home insulation contractors is amazing; when we called around to try to arrange for some estimates on having more insulation put in the attic we were told that we would have to wait for six months!

Guest post by Dianna Campbell

One thing is for sure, many more people are staying put in their homes instead of trying to sell their homes and buy new ones. The entire global economy is so uncertain right now that the general feeling here in Toronto is that it is better to hire some toronto contractors to update your existing house than it is to risk losing money in the real estate market of trying to sell it and then not being able to get out from under it.

I can remember when my hubby and I decided that we wanted to have some renovations toronto done to our house – we wanted to raise the roof and add on three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and then remodel the kitchen. We found some really fantastic toronto kitchen contractors that made the cabinets by hand. They took a fairly long time to complete the cabinets, but they were totally awesome and we were the envy of the neighborhood when the kitchen was finished.

When I moved out of that house it broke my heart to leave that kitchen behind.

There just never seems to be enough storage room outside to protect everything from the elements. I have a lot of items outside; from tractors to lawn mowers to a jet ski (which I know gets wet anyway, but I want to protect it from the sun) to an old pickup that I’m trying to restore.

Also, if I want to change the oil or work on something and not clutter up the garage for 2 or 3 weeks, I can put it in there and work on it when I get a chance. So, I want to get a carport. Carports come in many sizes and shapes and I want to make sure that I get one that is big enough to put everything underneath there that I want to.

I’ve measured 2 or 3 of them and just when I thought it was the right size I found out that by putting 2 or 3 of the items in there that I want, all of a sudden there’s no room for anything else! So I want to make sure that I get the right size the first time and not have to worry about it! I also want to install some lights in it.

This past weekend I was happy to finally be able to burn the brush pile that I have been building for months. There has been a drought in the area, which resulted in a burning moratorium. We’ve had a few days of rain, and they lifted the moratorium, so I burned the pile.

I was truly in my element, out there, rake in hand, tending the fire. It burned high and quick. My wife was nervous about sparks setting the nearby woods on fire, or even our roof, but I had everything under control. She is such a worrier!

I was surprised, though, that the pile smoldered for four days afterwards! A little surprise rose out of this, on the third night, I let the dogs out about two o’clock in the morning. Within minutes, they started barking and growling. As I stepped out onto the deck to see what the matter was, I saw two large glowing eyes staring at me from the middle of the lawn. Upon further examination, I noticed that it was two hot spots from the pile of ashes and embers that was driving the dogs crazy. The next day I hosed the spot down and took care of it.
