I’ve had direct tv ever since I moved out from under my parents roof, many years back. I’ve always been happy with what they have to offer me and the customer service that they always provide me with. It has always worked out well when I have had to move, it’s never been a hassle getting my service transferred to the new places that I’ve found myself at. I can’t imagine ever leaving Direct Satellite TV they have become a way of life with me.

My parents even subscribe to Direct TV in California. When they moved out there they called dx3 direct tv and gave them my account number when they signed up with them and we both received a $100 credit referral fee, which worked out real nice.

I like that I can pay my monthly bill online on their website. It’s nice and easy and I don’t have to worry about writing a check or paying for any stamps. It’s all good with Direct TV! I was amazed the first time I saw a USB flash drive.  My kids call them “thumb drives.”  The first one we bought didn’t have much memory (I think it was 128) and was really expensive, but it was a convenient way to move files from one place to another.  The next one we bought was four times the storage size (512), but the same big price.  A couple of months ago we found a USB flash drive for sale that was a the same price as the other ones we had bought a couple of years ago, but it had  whopping 8GB storage!  It’s incredible how technology advances so fast!

My first job was with a well known insurance company, as the receptionist. I really loved that job. The pay was good, the people were nice and I loved the numerous duties that I was held responsible for. One of my favorites was the decorating of the office for the various holidays through out the year. I poked around and found two half way decent and barely usable enclosed bulletin boards at a yard sale to use for various purposes at work. I really liked that they were the enclosed cork bulletin boards kind, so it keep a lot of the stuff a lot cleaner and secured.

The first board was kept full of bulletins, permits, memo’s, and licenses, pretty boring paperwork that most people didn’t even pay attention to. The second one I used for more friendly information and I always had decorated for every holiday I could come up with. I bought most of the stuff needed to decorate or brought stuff from home, it was fun so I didn’t mind the small expenses it took to buy items that I’d find at yard sales or on clearance at the local craft stores.

I never could find any cheap, decent enclosed fabric bulletin boards anywhere that I went back then, those would have been really cool to work with.

Sheetz is a popular gas station around these parts. They usually have the lowest prices for gas and cigarettes. Last time I was in there I saw that they are selling milk shakes and since I really enjoy a good milk shake I decided to give it a try. I have to say that they make a very tasty milk shake for only $2.29, a much better shake and a much better deal than McDonald’s.

Sheetz just recently made it possible to save 3 cents a gallon by offering their customers a customer appreciation card that you can use to save money not only on gas but on other products found inside as well. It’s all about saving money these days.

Have you ever heard the term Google Bombed? I never knew what it meant until recently when I heard my kids talking about how a large group of people had used Google to hi-jack searches for a particular person. Apparently what had happened was that a concentrated effort had been made to ruin the reputation for this person by having a lot of websites create links that resulted in a search for the name of this person ended up with the top results led to a web page that was saying a lot of derogatory things about that person.

Well, as you can imagine, the result of that effort has caused some serious trouble for that particular person. I don’t want to name that person, but he is a well known politician. And it has caused him some serious embarrassment. I would think that anyone who is going to be in the public eye, running for politics would be well advised to hire a reputation management company to prevent situations like that from happening, and to repair them if they do happen.

Every now and then I will do a Google Search on my own name, my wife’s name, and my children’s names. It’s amazing how many different people have the same name as us! This is one of the reasons that I think that the Internet is both a curse and a blessing; sometimes it can help you locate a particular company or person, and research whether that person or company has a good reputation or a bad one. It’s a shame that some people will use it as a means to injure others.
