Dr Copa Scrip for Success

For years I would watch the late night news at 11:00 and then during the Jay Leno Show I would fall asleep. About 8 years ago I got tired of Leno – I think his style of humor and arrogance finally got to me. So I switched the channel and started watching the David Letterman Show instead. I must say, that once the Letterman Show comes on, there are many night when I stay awake to hear his guests rather than falling asleep.

Then I discovered the show following David Letterman is the Craig Ferguson Late Late Night, a very funny man and he has some pretty good guests, too. So there are nights when I don’t fall asleep until about 1:00 am. Of course, I am wretchedly tired the next day.

At some point a new or small business grows big enough that they need the help of an Advertising Agency and there are many ways to handle that big next step. Years ago, my dad was working for a small company that grew quickly and was very successful. He was a salesman for the company and he used to come home from work and share stories of his daily adventures. I clearly remember the time he came home, bursting with pride, and announced that his company was going to be airing a commercial on TV. They had moved up into the Big Time!

His company had done everything right to get to that level of success and they were ready to move up another notch. They hired an advertising agency, made a series of commercials that aired the entire year, and they raked in a ton of new customers, gave everyone bonuses, and opened a second location. Commercials done right can work wonders for the bottom line.

Everyone has seen some of the poorly produced local commercials on TV. Around here, they are usually done by a furniture store or a car dealership. They let the owner’s relatives walk around the store and speak corny lines during the 30 second spots. It’s pitiful. I can’t help but think that these amateur commercials do very little to enhance the image of the store, and if they are going to spend the money on a TV commercial they should hire an advertising agency to handle the script, production and scheduling.

I am pretty sure most people take their feet for granted and don’t think about them very much. I must say, the average person does not have attractive feet. Unless the person has spent time grooming their feet, they often have callouses and uneven toenails and worse things I won’t mention here.

Do you remember a funny scene in a movie with Eddie Murphy where he had opportunities with many beautiful but then he looked at the woman’s feet and he was so disgusted with them that he spurned the women? I cannot remember the movie title. There was a funny scene when he had one particularly beautiful woman in bed and he lifted up the satin bedsheets to look at her feet and his resulting expression and actions were hilarious.

This ad showed up on my Yahoo homepage and I look at the foot and thought, Edie Murphy would not approve. You would think that if they were going to feature a woman’s foot on a major media source that someone would find a professional foot model and show a pretty foot – not something ugly like this one.

There are so many people who are out of work and have been on unemployment for so long that their benefits are about to run out. I feel so badly for the people who are struggling to keep their bills paid and their families together in this bad economy. If I was in the situation of having been out of work for over a year some have been laid off for well over two years now – and had no serious prospects for a job in my chosen field of work, I would start to seriously consider changing careers. Sometimes it is relatively easy to find a career similar to yours with just a little bit of training or certification in a new field or related industry to become qualified, such as medical management courses.

Everyone has been talking about the pending teacher layoffs and worried about how the teachers are going to be able to find new jobs. Well, no one says they have to teach elementary school – they can take a medical teaching course and then teach adults instead of children. They are many corporate training jobs, too. Some companies have huge training programs for their employees.

In fact, some teachers are so good at teaching that they could slightly alter their professional skills by taking a teach the teacher course and then they can teach other teaching professionals the continuing education classes that they need during their in-service days. Even teachers need to be taught about new developments in their profession, new methods and how to handle emerging issues.

One of the neighbors was sitting out on his porch typing away on what I thought was a laptop computer. When he waved me over, he was delighted to show me that it was not a laptop, it was a new netbook.

That computer is tiny and extremely lightweight. I think it only weighs about 2 pounds and is smaller than most printed books. It seems to do everything that my laptop does as far as connects s to the internet and has Windows with some of the standard software. It was a great deal for only $200. I might have to check into getting one like it and just keeping it in the car for when I am out and about.
