Getting free stuff
As I mentioned in a previous post, my wife and I are trying to fix up our basement. We’ve started spending substantial time looking at craigslist and freecycle to see what people are giving away that we might be able to use. So far we have a toilet, a pedestal bathroom sink, a couple of kitchen cupboards, some Formica kitchen counter-tops (with kitchen sink,) an electric range with hood, and a refrigerator. Everything is in good shape. Things are going pretty well, I’d say! I was really worried about how much money it was going to cost to fix up the place, but I’d say that with this “smart shopping” the costs are going down steadily!
