Personalized therapy

With the economy in a tailspin, more people are turning to some form of substance abuse as a way to cope with the stresses of life.  They don’t intend to become addicted; they just want some relief from the stress of everyday life.  It is sad to realize that so many Americans never learned the coping skills that are so essential in times like these; we need to learn how to cope with stress.  Let’s face it, stress is a part of life to begin with, and with this economy, the stressors are increasing daily.  There are three basic ways to cope with stress, one is to remove the stressor, one is to learn how to deal with the stress, and another is to try to escape the stress.

The healthiest was to cope with stress is learning to deal with it, but many people turn to trying to escape from it by drinking alcohol or taking drugs.  Unfortunately these are highly addictive and are physically damaging to the body, and have a tendency to have a very negative effect on personal relationships.  Fortunately there are some really great Alcohol Treatment and Drug Detox and Drug Rehab available to help the person who has become addicted and wants to kick the addiction.  One of the best ways to kick these addictions is through the type of personalized therapy programs such as those available at the Cliffside Malibu facilities in Malibu California.  People turn to drugs and alcohol for very different personal reasons and it only makes sense to have a therapy program customized to each client’s needs to ensure that they learn the coping skills required for their own unique situation.

Cheating the Girl Scouts?

I was just reading on the msnbc news website that someone has been using counterfeit $20 bills to buy Girl Scout cookies in Bremerton Washington. The troop has accumulated 5 counterfeit bills so far! The article goes on to say that other counterfeit $20 bills have cropped up in the area, so it is not simply confined to the Girl Scouts. They found out about the fraud when they took the money to the bank and the teller told them that some of the money was counterfeit!

There is a special pen that can be used to detect counterfeit money, if you use it on a real dollar bill it turns yellow; when used on a counterfeit bill it turns black. So the Girls Scouts have bought a lot of those pens and are giving it to the girls, who will be using it on any $20 bill they receive as payment for their cookies.

I wonder if someone is doing this deliberately to the Girl Scouts, or if there are simply a lot of these counterfeit bills out in circulation and it is a coincidence that the Girl Scouts are getting so many of them! If someone is targeting the Girl Scouts, that is pretty low!
