Taking our son to the train

Our youngest son came to visit us on a short school break for this past week. We always love to see him. My wife misses him dreadfully when he is not home. I used to be jealous of how much she misses him, and how she dotes on him when he is here, but now I’ve learned to just stand back and watch and enjoy how happy she is when he is here. Maybe I’m growing up, huh?

Well, this morning it was time to take him to the train station and drop him off so he could return to school. Although my wife drove, I decided to go along and keep her company for the return trip because it takes an hour each way, and I knew that if I didn’t go and keep her company that she would be driving home crying. If I go with her, I can keep her mind off of how sad she is to see him go. I think this time was easier than most, however, because he said he might be coming back in a few weeks for another few days, and that made my wife very happy!
