Dr Copa

Charlie called me a few minutes ago to tell me that he is planning on moving to Houston in the next few weeks.  He said that his company has offered him a promotion if he would move there.  Well, with this economy and job market, he decided that he would be wise to take the job offer and move!  So he told me that he was looking at the clicksmart.com website to find Realtors in Houston that would help him to find a place to live when he moves.  He is planning on flying to Houston this weekend to meet with some Houston Realtors to start looking at some places.  I told him he’s very lucky that he has only been renting a place here so he doesn’t have to worry about trying to sell a house in this buyer’s market!

On the drive back home from taking our son to the train this morning, my wife commented that all of our cars have acquired that nasty film on their windshields that makes it hard to see through the windshield when she is driving to and from work every day.  She asked me what was the best solvent to use to clean the windshields?  I told her rubbing alcohol, and she fell quiet.  Well, shortly after we got home I got the paper towels and rubbing alcohol out and cleaned all of the car windshields.  I hope she notices when she goes to work in the morning!

When we lived in New England, my wife and I ran our own small business.  We incorporated it to minimize the personal risk of losing our house in the event of a lawsuit, but we also bought as much business insurance and vehicle insurance as we could afford.  We really felt strongly that we needed to insure ourselves against any disgruntled customer that might come along, or against any kind of accident that might happen.

We were really glad that we DID buy business insurance because there were a couple of times that we needed to use it to help pay a customer for accidental damages when we were performing some work for the customer.  Having that insurance was the only thing that kept us afloat in a difficult time!

It has been such a beautiful day out today that I have announced to my family that I will be cooking hamburgers on the grill out on the back deck for dinner tonight.  I know that sounds perhaps contradictory to my post of the other day about trying to eat healthier, but it really isn’t!  I don’t think that hamburgers are really all that bad for you if you cook them with 93% lean ground beef.  Most people make their burgers with 75% or 80% lean beef, and I think that is just way too much fat!  Besides, I’ll be serving salad on the side. 

I really do love to use the grill for cooking, and it is remarkable to me that I can cook outside in early January here.  I’m used to living in an area that is bitter cold and deep in snow this time of year!  I love the weather here; it is so much milder!  So, my wife said if I want to cook burgers on the grill tonight, that’s fine with her!

My nephew Bob has emailed me from London, telling me that he’s finally decided to look into getting a nose job.  His wife convinced him to look into the MYA clinic’s cosmetic surgery for men services and learn more about it.  Bob broke his nose when he fell off of his motorcycle a few years ago and never had it fixed properly.  His wife tells him that now he snores terribly, and the doctor thinks that might be corrected by having a rhinoplasty surgery (nose job.)
