Wife is sick
I had to take my wife to the doctor’s office today – she came down with another one of her terrible sinus infections. When we lived in New England she had a doctor that had been her PCP for about the past twenty years and had sent her to all kinds of specialists and they had come to the conclusion after many X-Rays and CAT scans and MRIs that she was just always going to get a sinus infection every single time she caught a cold and that all she would have to do is call the doctor and say “I’m coming down with a cold” and the doctor would call in a prescription for antibiotics. This would prevent her from getting the sinus infection and in a couple of days she would be feeling better and still be able to work.
Well, the doctors down here won’t honor that agreement, they insist on seeing her. She was so sick last winter that she missed about six weeks of work because they wouldn’t give her antibiotics soon enough. She doesn’t get sick pay, so that really hurt our checkbooks!
Well, the doctor saw her yesterday and gave her an antibiotic, she should be feeling better by Wednesday (we hope!)
