My older sister tells me that she wants a facelift. She’s in her mid-fifties now and she is unhappy with the few wrinkles and crows feet and goodness knows whatever else is on her face. She has always been one to be more than happy to change her body around, she dies her hair, she had breast implants; she wants to look twenty years old forever.
I talked to her on the phone over the weekend (phone calls on my cell phone are free on the weekend, so that’s when I try to call her) and that’s when she told me that she is going to be making an appointment with a Detroit facelift clinic called Accents to have her face stripped, waxed, buffed and polished. Okay, that’s not what she REALLY said, but as a car enthusiast, that’s what I interpreted it to mean! All I know is that she plans to do whatever it takes to look as young as humanly possible as long as she has the money to pay for it!
I’ve told her that it’s her life, and her body, and her money, and if that’s what she wants to do with it to make her happy, then I’m all for it.
My wife cooks a dish she calls “Western Mac” that she and I enjoy quite a bit. Lately, though, I’ve decided that I want to get involved in some of the food preparation and decided to ask her for the recipe and tinker with it a little bit. I don’t like onions at all, so usually whenever my wife finds a recipe she wants to try she leaves the onions out. She complains that the food just doesn’t taste right without the onions, but that’s too bad.
Anyway, I decided to make my own macaroni dish and cooked some macaroni, drained it. Then I added a pound of cooked low fat ground beef (crumbled) and added a can of crushed tomatoes, a can of tomato soup, and a can of tomato paste. Mixed it all together and warmed it up, I think it came out yummy! My wife likes it too, but she adds a little bit of catsup to hers. So I’m quite pleased that I came up with a meal that my wife enjoys!
I’ve been thinking about buying a treadmill over the past couple of months. My wife doesn’t think I would use one; it would get put in the basement (there’s no room for it anywhere upstairs) and because the basement isn’t finished up nicely yet that it would go unused. I disagree; I really think I’d use one. So I’ve started looking around. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to need one of the treadmills with a sturdy frame so it doesn’t shake around a lot like the lightweight treadmills do. Before I make any decisions I’ll be checking out the treadmillguru.com website to see what their reviews have to say about different treadmills.
I’ve been complaining to my wife how much my feet hurt at the end of the day, now that I’m back to work and standing up a lot, my feet and back hurt more than I expected them to hurt. So she bought me some of those shoe inserts that are orthopedically designed specifically for back, leg, and heel pain. She bought herself a pair of them, too. I told her that I didn’t want to try them; I’d heard from a shoe sales person that they aren’t worth a dime; that what I need is special $200 shoes. She told me to try them out; she loved hers! She said that the shoe salesman just wanted to sell me expensive shoes that I didn’t need. Well, after a couple of days of listening to her how much she LOVED her shoe inserts, I reluctantly opened mine and tried them out. Guess what – they made quite a bit of difference! My feet don’t hurt nearly as badly at the end of the day as before! So maybe I won’t buy those $200 shoes after all!
My family loves video games. Our oldest son spends every minute he can in front of the television, playing video games. It seems that as soon as a new game console comes out he has to go buy it; I think we have every game console ever made since he was old enough to ask for games! At least from the very first Nintendo system!
Of course, we have the newest Playstation 3, and the Nintendo Wii as well. What self-respecting video game addict wouldn’t have them? As much as it aggravates me how much time he spends playing games, at least he isn’t out doing something illegal that would land him in jail like much of today’s young people are doing! And, we are glad that he enjoys the Wii games that require him to actually get out of the chair and engage in some physical action. When we have guests, they enjoy playing the Wii games with him, which is fun to watch. I’ve heard that there is a new Wii Fit with fitness board game that is a lot of fun to play, and helps keep people in shape.
Shopping for the best deal on the new Wii game can be quite easy online by using the shopping search engine called Quickshop. What is so great about this shopping engine is that it EVERY store on the Internet that sells the item, not just a few selected vendors that paid to get on a list. That’s over 30,000 stores! So you get a much bigger list to choose from!
