Tim is moving to India

My good friend Tim has been transferred to India.  He said he will be there for three years.  I can’t imagine not seeing him for three years!  He said that he wants me to subscribe to a discount international long distance service that specializes in discount calls to India so I can call india to talk to him as often as I want to talk.  The name of the company that provides the service is Trueroots.

He is taking his wife and kids with him, so they are very excited about the adventure of living and learning in a different culture.  They all like the spicy curried Indian cuisine, so that’s a good start!

I need to start a new project

My back has really been hurting for the past couple of weeks.  I build a lot of models in my spare time; one of them happened to be a  2004 Pontiac GTO.

One of the things I like about building the models is the details; having to paint the body and paint the interior.  I put all the front end parts together, the rear end, including drive shaft, shocks, struts; whatever type of suspension.  Well finally I finished this one.  I have probably upwards of ten models at my disposal to put together at any given time; these models are ones that I’ve always wanted to build and when I see them at a store I try to grab them because I know that I will build them in the future.  So after a week or so of looking at my empty table, looking at the weather, knowing that I can’t get outside and fly my model helicopters (which is another whole subject) I decided my new project will be a 1972 Corvette.  This will feature a big block 427 4speed positrack with fancy wheels.

The model is supposed to be blue but as I like chrome (another subject) I will add a lot of chrome to it and I will paint the exterior metal plate green and the interior a dark hunter green.  I’ve only seen one like this on the road and I really like the color.  So that’s my new project.

Water troubles

When we first moved into this house my wife was suspicious of the water quality and wanted us to test the water for a lot of different things besides bacteria.  It seems that the realtor who sold us this house hired a disreputable person to test our water and the results were that the water was potable.  Well, my wife had a strange feeling that the water was NOT potable, and she had the water tested again after we moved in.  She was right; the water was NOT potable!  We disinfected the system, and had it retested.  Still not potable.  Disinfected again, tested again, still not potable.  We were very upset (still are very upset.)

Well, long story longer, we needed to purchase a water filtration system.  Not knowing the area, and who was the best company to buy a system from, we ended up spending thousands of dollars on a system that still does not work right a year after we had it installed!

I wish we had heard about the Expert Water Solutions company before we invested so much money into our system we have now.  The guy who put our system in says he will give us a “break” if we refer people to him, but we are not satisfied with his system at all, and it seems we are stuck with it anyway.

So, I would suggest to any and everyone to check out the Expert Water Solutions Company before committing to buying anything else from anyone else!  They provide free water tests and have every kind of water treatment/filtering/conditioning system you could possibly need for less money than you would pay elsewhere.  Their products have been time tested to work the way they are supposed to work, and they stand behind their products!

Now my cat needs an operation!

At least once a year I take my animals to the vet to have them checked over for anything and everything.  The prices are ridiculous, and it seems like I have to start saving the same day I get them back to have them looked at the following year!  This year, doom struck!  A few days before I was going to take the cat to the vet I was loving it up on the couch.  I discovered a lump on its side.  I didn’t like the feel of it!  But I was glad I was taking the cat to the vet the following week anyway, and it didn’t seem to bother him.

Anyway, I took the cat to the vet and naturally the vet told me “your cat needs an operation.”  I swallowed hard and said “Yeah, I figured that.  It looks like I’m going to leave my next two to three paychecks with you!”  He just operated on my dog!  Now he’s operating on my cat!  Animals!  Unbelievable!  It’s always something!  He said “the cat should be just like new.”  I could just leave the lump there, but the cat could die from it.  At least we know the cat will be around for a few more years.
