My sister recently bought a marble column from the website she was recommending to me and was very pleased with the quality and the price.   I’ve gone to the website and was surprised to see all of the different marble items that they sell there: marble fireplaces, columns, water fountains, statues, mantles, and stone sculptures.  They have large marble animal statues that I think would look really great as garden ornaments, and I love their marble fountains!

I found several marble animal sculptures that would look great on a display shelf in the house, or maybe as bookends that were less than $100!  I was surprised that I could buy something that affordable.

I’ve started looking for my wife’s birthday gift already.  I know it isn’t for a couple of months yet, but I want to take my time and buy the perfect gift for her.  She is a very special lady and I want her to know that I love her very much.  I don’t want to wait until the last minute to rush out and buy her a box of chocolates and call it good.  I also don’t want to buy her a household appliance!  I want her to know that I took her likes and dislikes and personality into consideration when picking out that perfect gift. 

I know she loves animals, and she loves natural materials like wood and stone.  My sister suggested that I check out a website that sells things made out of marble. 

My friend Jim stopped over yesterday afternoon for a visit.  I haven’t seen him since last September, when his mother died and left him half a million dollars!  Well, he says he went a little bit crazy and bought himself a new Corvette and drove it across country to California, where he got himself into a little bit of trouble by driving too fast.  He didn’t want to give me details; he was embarrassed!  But suffice it to say that he had to find some Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorneys | California Felony and Misdemeanor Defense Lawyers to get him out of the jam he was in!

I know this is a funny subject!  But I’ve had the same waste basket for ten years!  It was an old green battered up thing; it had been sitting in the heat at times, in the sun, and it had stretched, or melted (whatever) so that the top that swings back and forth would not stay on unless you didn’t use it!  Now what good is a waste basket if you don’t use it????

I have this waste basket beside my chair at night so if I’m eating an ice cream out of a paper wrapper, or a bag of popcorn, a piece of candy (anything that comes in paper or plastic) I can throw it in the waste basket!  I might add that it doesn’t weigh very much; a slight breeze can knock it over (or a dog running by!)  The dog went between my chair and the waste basket the other night and knocked it over.  I usually empty it every week but a couple of weeks went by and I didn’t get to it.  I guess I just didn’t think about it!  I looked at my wife and said “that’s it!  I’m gonna buy a new waste basket!” 

Well, bingo bango, a couple of days later I had a new waste basket with a fancy top!  It is black; one of my favorite colors.  I put it in the same place as the other one; put the old one out in the garage – just couldn’t seem to throw it away!  The greatest thing about this new waste basket – the dog has run into it three or four times and it hasn’t knocked it over!
