As we all knew would happen, there has been a lot of news coverage of the Pope visiting the United States. The other day one of the news stories was giving some details about his background, and I was surprised to learn that the Pope speaks twenty different languages! I imagine that was mentioned when he first became the Pope, but I had not remembered it.
My wife and I were talking about how the Pope is appointed to his position for life, and we have to wonder what happens if and when a man (who is appointed Pope) becomes senile, suffers from dementia, or is struck with Alzheimers. Is he removed from office? Chances are he won’t retire voluntarily!
My wife loves to wear unique clothing and jewelry. She is always on the lookout for things to wear that look good, but different than what everyone else around her is wearing. I suppose that doing that makes her feel special. She has never wanted to blend in with the crowd! So, when it comes to buying her a gift at gift time, like Mother’s Day coming up, the kids and I go ”treasure hunting” for unique things to buy her.
