Need to repair my brother in law’s hovercraft

Filed under: General Living, Shopping and/or Product Reviews — Copa @ 5:00 am

Last summer my brother-in-law was showing off in his hovercraft, lost control, and crashed it into a stone embankment.  We hauled it off to our back yard to wait until we could fix it together.

So, I have gone to the website www.americanmarinesupply.com to look for fiberglass boat repair supplies and material to use when we are working on it.

Upon examination, we found that the front hull was crushed in several places and I have to make a template and then I’ll be using the supplies to re-mold the areas and strengthen the hull so that if it happens again there won’t be a weak place in the boat.

I can’t wait to go for a long ride on my bike!

Today I was sitting in my chair watching tv and the phone rang.  It was my brother in law.  He said he’d be thinking of me the last few weeks as he had been riding his Harley.  He wanted to know how soon before I could go for a ride on my Harley with him.  He enjoys riding with someone that respects the road and is not a show-off like half the bikes out there that we see when we are out there riding.

I’ve been laid up for the past few weeks due to a back injury, but I am healing slowly but steadily, and my doctor seems to think I should be able to ride my bike by Memorial Day.  The last long ride I took was about 150 miles in one direction, it felt great!  It was a beautiful day and there seemed to be nothing out there to stop us, we just rode and rode.  Since then I’ve only ridden on short rides, 30 or 40 miles at a time, obviously I haven’t been able to ride my bike since I hurt my back in October, but now I am just about ready for a nice long ride!

Thinking about getting a new car

My wife and I have been talking about getting a new car.  We have been talking about buying one for about a year now.  My sister in law has been urging us to lease a car, instead.  She has been leasing her car(s) for about the last ten years, and every other year she trades it in for a new one.  So, she is always buying a new car.

My wife says she’s not sure if leasing is the best option for us.  She doesn’t like the idea that at the end of the lease agreement, we don’t end up owning the car.  She doesn’t think it is a good investment.  But, I like driving new cars!  So we need to discuss this out between us.  She says that put a lot of miles on our cars every year, and the mileage overage charges could really hurt us a lot.  But, to humor my sister-in-law and me, we have been checking out leasing a car.

My brother told me about a website that we can use to help us determine if the lease agreement on the car we pick out is a good deal or not.  It is a free service website called www.shrewedlease.com.  The website has a Vehical Lease Evaluator on it that is easy to use.  You plug in the variable that it asks you, like the monthly payments, the MSRP, the capital cost, the length of the loan, the extra mileage charges, and after you put in all of the information it will tell you if the lease is a good deal or not.
